All dogs 6 months of age or older (or once they have been vaccinated against rabies) must be licensed each year.  The decision on when to vaccinate is up to your veterinarian.   Licenses are available through the Town Clerk's Office and may be purchased in person, by mail, by using the drop box at the rear entrance, or online www.highgatevt.org (quick links) if there is a current rabies certificate on file.

In order to license your dog you must present the following items to the Town Clerk’s Office:

 * A copy of a valid rabies certificate (unless one is already on file).   *   Spay / Neuter Cert. if applicable

 * Cash, or a check made payable to "Town of Highgate" for the correct amount.  We now also accept credit or debit card payments, please note a convenience fee of $3.00 or 2.65% (whichever is greater) will be added if you choose this option.   Please note - the day of the rabies clinic we will only accept cash & checks.   No credit card payments will be accepted at the clinic.  

FEES FOR 2024 :   $13 SPAY / NEUTERED OR $17 NOT SPAY / NOT NEUTERED IF YOU LICENSE BY APRIL 1, 2024.    FEES GO UP AFTER APRIL 1 - FEE FLYER OR INFO BELOW.   You may license by mail, by using our drop box (REAR ENTRANCE), in person Monday-Thursday 9am - 4pm, or pay online on our website www.highgatevt.org under quick links - valid rabies ppwk must be on file.    Thank you.
