Vermont Marriage Licenses

Information on obtaining a marriage license

MARRIAGE LICENSES ARE ISSUED BY VERMONT TOWN CLERKS.    Effective 7/1/2022 you may obtain a marriage license from ANY VERMONT TOWN CLERK, not just in the town you live in.    Out of state visitors can also obtain a marriage license from ANY VERMONT TOWN CLERK.     The license is valid for 60 days from the date of issue, and you can be married anywhere in the State of Vermont with a valid VT Marriage License.

The license costs $80.00.   A certified copy is an extra $10.00.    (PRICING CHANGED EFF. 7/1/23)
